  • After being betrayed and imprisoned, CIA Ground Branch operative Jace Rawlins escapes into the U.S.–Mexico borderlands to dismantle the corruption that violated his code—while hunted by cartel assassins and former allies determined to silence him—before the fight for justice costs him the dignity that defines him.

  • In the unforgiving borderlands of West Texas and Northern Mexico, CIA Ground Branch operative Jace Rawlins is betrayed during a covert operation and marked for death. Cut loose from the system he once served, Rawlins becomes a ghost—moving through desert canyons, cartel corridors, and forgotten towns as both hunter and hunted. With cartel assassins closing in and the truth pointing back to his own organization, Rawlins wages a relentless, one-man war to expose the betrayal. But every step toward justice pulls him deeper into a cycle of violence, forcing him to confront whether redemption is still possible—or if survival means becoming the very thing he’s fighting.

  • Jace Rawlins once lived by a code. It was quiet, unspoken, and earned over years spent in the shadows—where loyalty matters, words are few, and the cost of failure is paid in blood. As a CIA Ground Branch operative, Rawlins understood the rules of that world and the dignity required to survive. Until the day those rules were broken.

During a covert operation along the U.S.–Mexico border, Rawlins is betrayed by forces he trusted. Left for dead and cut loose from the system, he becomes a ghost—hunted not only by a ruthless cartel, but by the very organization that once relied on him. Imprisoned and stripped of rank, protection, and identity, Rawlins eventually escapes into the desert, moving through canyons, safe houses, and forgotten towns where the law no longer reaches and survival depends on instinct and resolve.

As the pursuit closes in, Rawlins begins to uncover the truth behind the betrayal: a web of corruption that runs deeper than a single mission and implicates men who believe themselves untouchable. With no headquarters to call and no backup coming, Rawlins is forced to rely on the one thing the system can’t take from him—his compassion for others and his courage in the face of danger.

But the road he’s on is a dangerous one. Each act of violence brings him closer to justice while pulling him further away from the man he once was. In the unforgiving borderlands, Rawlins must confront a question he can’t outrun: how far can you go before survival costs you the very dignity you’re fighting to preserve?

Desert Ghost is a neo-Western thriller about dignity under pressure, the weight of unfinished business, and the cost of choosing to stand when walking away would be easier. It’s the story of a man who refuses to disappear quietly—and how one man, armed with courage and conviction, can still make a difference in a broken world.
